Zinc Coating Methods
Zinc Coating Methods
Electro Galvanized (DIN 50961)
Galvanized on steel sheet by electrolysis method. Subsequent chromating is applied to improve the protection of the electrogalvanized parts. Bolts, nuts, washers, splices and other small mounting elements can be galvanized with this method. (Ideal for indoor use.)
Zinc coating thickness:
Class 1 min. 5 μ
Class 2- min. 12 μ

Pregalvanized (EN 10143)
The steel sheet to be galvanized is passed through a rotating belt first through the temperature bath, then through the molten zinc. The casing is also chromated to increase its strength. The exposed surfaces by cutting and drilling were covered with zinc by a cathodic effect based on electrochemical voltage drop between iron and zinc, They are protected to the thickness. This method can be applied to parts that do not require welding during manufacturing. (Canal, ladder, etc.) (Suitable for indoor use)
Zinc coating thickness:
Class 3- min. 15 μ
Class 4 min. 19 μ
Hot Dipped Galvanized (EN ISO 1461)
Hot dip galvanized is made after imalat for good zinc coating. The method applied in non-continuous galvanizing processes is by immersing the metal parts into the melted zinc first. Hot drawn profiles and welded constructions are made of hot dip galvanized steel.
Zinc coating thickness:
Class 5 - Steel <1,5 mm. → min. 45 μ
Class 6 - Steel ≥ 1,5 mm Class 7 - Steel ≥ 3,0 mm Class 8 - Steel ≥ 6.0 mm → min. 85 μ
